“The New Year” is here.
By the time this posts the world around us will have rung in 2022 and hopefully rung out all that was dreary, nasty, and wrong in 2021.
Covid seems here to stay and with it all of the terrible uncertainties and consequences that come with it. Despite the shortages, delays, and cancellations the design community and most of the world experienced this past year (add to that many of the comforts and privileges we Americans are so used), here we are, still. And who can say what new and pleasant surprises are coming our way in the New Year. I’m all for it, love the suspense, fingers “X’d!
New is key, New is good, New is what we are all craving.

Ever the optimist, I’m looking forward to the New Year. For all of us at Charles Spada it’s a new beginning with our new showroom. The never-ending construction on suites 101 and 103 at 500 Harrison Ave in the all new SoWa Art and Design District are just about complete, ready for our move in a few weeks.
Our new Director of Fabrics and Wallcoverings, Peter du Place, comes to us from managing the Ralph Lauren Boston showroom, and with Peter comes new ideas, new collections, new fabric and wallcovering lines and especially top of the line service. We look forward to welcoming Pintura Studios, along with several other fine fabric houses (more to come!). We are also pleased to offer expanded collections from our current vendors, including Georgia MacMillan’s line of embroidered tablecloths, napkins, and pillow covers.

We have secured the George Smith upholstery and fabrics line arriving mid-winter. Bruce Andrews Design joins us with a fine selection of his exciting upholstery pieces in late spring. And we have some beautiful new antiques arriving in the next few weeks.
Last but certainly not least – New to the showroom is our new website, featuring our new online shop (Charles Spada Home) as well as my new blog which I write with great pleasure and in the sincere anticipation that you will enjoy the read.
On the list goes, new options for your shopping pleasure, new to help say bye-bye to the 2021 drearies. New is key, new is the new, new.
Come visit.
Happy, Healthy, Safe New Year to you and yours.
