Welcome to my Blog
Several friends and colleagues suggested I write a blog and attach the piece to my new website. I have shied away from it until now for the odd reason I simply do not care for the word Blog, sounds… gooey… stuck – like a clogged drain…
I enjoy writing and am grateful for the articles I have written and have had published over the years in Veranda, Milieu, local and sadly defunct design magazines. Most recently several of my stories, essays and articles have appeared in a delightful new French magazine My French Country Home. So, slowly I’m moving on getting past the blog word. Here we go, I hope all who chance upon this first introductory piece will enjoy the read and will follow me down this new and exciting path to wherever it takes us.
I own a showroom in Boston and recently (after 25 years) relocated from the Boston Design Center to a newly forming design center in Boston’s South End. The SoWa Art and Design Center hails out of 500 Harrison Avenue where we are in a temporary space until late fall, and as construction dictates we hope to move into our permanent showroom come November 2021. l am enjoying the change, I love change, for the better of course, otherwise why bother…
When I decided to represent fabric lines in my showroom some years ago I found the selection process most rewarding. The fabrics we represent, all boutique lines, each have their own personality reflecting, I immediately sensed, the personality of the creator who, it’s apparent, from the first pattern sketch to color selections, remains very much hands on. I am enamored of all my lines and feel fortunate that I am able to draw from them to use in my interior design projects.
In my upcoming blog posts I would like to share with you the background of these designers and the inspiration behind the fabric houses I represent. Please join me next time.
Catch you later.
