note from charles
“A new breakfast room, added on to a period 18th century colonial, overlooks Buzzards Bay.
The original house, a country inn, was moved from upstate New Hampshire (with some difficulty) to its current location. My client and long time friend since our first collaboration in the mid ’80’s and I visited the house when it came on the market. I understand my client well so I knew without a doubt she was determined to purchase the property, convincing her diplomat husband would be another story, since, we both realized, it needed restoration top to bottom. A restoration specialist was called in to oversee the technical aspects of the project and the house and carriage house were fully restored.
Beams, paneling, walls and floors were hand sanded removing layers of old paint leaving the patina of the old wood as mellow as time would have aged it naturally.”
